Virginia Credit Union Gettin All Fancy

So I ran through the Virginia Credit Union drive thru this afternoon and managed to take a picture of the tech they have been using for a few months. They have a camera pointed at you whilst in the car and also have a camera inside so you can have a more direct "experience" with the teller. While they are working, news, stocks, sports and whatnot are shown on the spiffy little monitors. Pretty cool I guess, I mean I do love tech in all places, how long before we are doing this at you favorite fast food drive through?

Kitty Surgery, an Interesting Day Indeed

Your cats ever have oral surgery? So if nothing else, we proved that our cats are in fact sisters because they both have equally terrible teeth. They are 3 1/2 and between them, 23 teeth were removed from their mouths today. 23! 10 from Zoe, not pictured, and 13 from Ginger here. She even could stand to have a couple more teeth pulled out, but it will wait for a year or two.
The trip to Powhatan from the West End was a disaster, but in an effort to keep from grossing you out, I will spare the details. Suffice it to say that they were in one big crate and the crate became nasty during the car ride….. twice and each time was a different “situation”. Anyway, we got the dropped off and the vet got them all cleaned up. We stayed close to the phone on standby all day and finally got word that all went very well and that we could head that way to pick them up.
Since they have been home I swear they traded places during their visit because Zoe, the normally docile sleepy one has been all over the place tonight. On the other hand, Ginger, the one that is ALWAYS checking out what were doing has been chilling in one of three spots all night. I think the drugs knocked her much harder than they did Zoe.
Anyway, they have wobbling all over the place like a couple of drunk bobble heads tonight, but are in good shape and should be in much better health and condition once the fog and wobbles are lifted.
So thanks to Dr. Fore from Claws and Paws in Powhatan. Were glad to have our kitties home safe and sound….
2k8 RVA Blogger Meetup! …..?

Chris (from Awaken Me) found a seemingly new, but in fact old announcement for an RVA Blogger meetup. It looked new because of the date @ the top of the post, but it looked old based on the 2k6, not 2k8 title. So why am I blogging about it? If I was feeling sarcastic and a bit mean I might poke fun @ the situation, but I am actually all about a 2008 RVA Blogger meetup. I actually thought about this myself just this weekend, not kidding.
I say let’s do this thing!
Mr. Catrow will certainly need to be involved….. you know…. since he started the whole RVA Blogs thing, but I think we all need to get behind this and make it known…. well known, and get as many RVA Bloggers to show their faces as we can.
As for Chris’s question about knowing who is who….. “Hello my name is:” stickers with our websites….. and maybe Twitter names would be awesome.
Sounds like Ross is already open ears on this, so lets start working on a place and a date and get it organized.
PS to anyone that would be actually setting this currently imaginary event up – I am willing to help out in any way needed, just send me an email and let me know.
Monday Morning Weigh In – Week-1

It’s Monday and I had to have a meeting with the scale this morning. It has been one week…. actually less because I started on Tuesday or Wednesday last week. According to the scale this morning I am SANS 5 pounds, which means I am 250 at the moment.
I would say that I did well last week, but will be curious if I am able to hit 245 next Monday. I say that because I ate fairly well, but not perfect and I was active on most days, but only hit the gym a couple days. I think the small changes make a big difference, so hopefully I can keep on the same path and improve my time in the gym.
My wisdom of the week, concerning weight loss……. When it’s busy, it’s hard to stay on track…. very hard. The best way to combat this is to think ahead and keep it simple.

Saw this sign in Nordstrom and it made me stop and ponder MY point of view…… So I pondered whilst wandering, but didn’t come up with anything. Probably because I wasn’t thinking within a context…….
If the contaxt was shopping…… My point of view is that God definitely made men and women different when the context is shopping………
So what’s your point of view? In any context……

Stimulus – A drop in the bucket?

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed seeing our bank account by $1200 last week. But I can’t seem to get the idea out of my head that this “Stimulus Package” seems conveniently timed and honestly, I expect the sale of flat screen TVs and other premium non essentials to skyrocket in response to this stimulus package. So who will benefit the most? Best Buy, Circuit City, Wal-Mart and the like.
Don’t be surprised if you start seeing really awesome deals on this stuff that adds up to the magic $600 and $1200 numbers.

Cassette and all, it’s the worlds first digital camera. Seriously…. I am thinking about turning in my Nikon D70 for one of these bad boys. I mean, I can probably get like 1 frame a min. with this thing.
